Your First Steps on go-models.com

Modified on Sun, 9 Oct, 2022 at 6:32 PM

You've just begun using go-models and are ready to take the first steps toward furthering your modeling career. We've compiled a list of the most essential initial actions you must perform to make the greatest use of go-models.

FIRST STEPS

Make high-quality pictures of yourself, if you have not already done so

The most important thing you can do to make a good first impression on potential clients is to have high-quality pictures of yourself. If you're just getting started, you might not have a lot of professional shots yet. That's okay! You can also use high-quality snapshots of yourself to give potential clients an idea of your different looks. If you want to take it a step further, you can get some professional pictures taken. You can find a reputable photographer in your area by doing a quick search online. You can also make use of Time-for-print opportunities to quickly get a few professional shots. Professional shots are less essential for babies and child models since looks change quickly. Pictures should still be recent and of good quality.

Once you have 5-10 pictures ready, it's time for the next step.

Complete your comp-card

It's time to put your great photos to use and create your comp card. Your comp card is your modeling business card. It includes your name, stats (height, weight, measurements, etc.), and five of your best pictures. You can create a comp card on go-models by uploading the pictures in the comp card section of your profile. Your comp card includes shots showing you from different perspectives (i.e., portraits, full-body shots, etc.).  Your photos will be reviewed by our dedicated team and you will receive feedback within a few days.

Create a strong model portfolio

If a potential client likes your comp card, he or she will more than likely want to see additional photos in your portfolio. Your model portfolio should include a variety of images that show off your range as a model. You can include images from past photoshoots, as well as snapshots of you in different outfits and settings. The more variety you show in your portfolio, the better! But remember, quality matters more than quantity. While you can add many photos to your portfolio, make sure that each one is of the highest quality possible.

Complete your profile

Your profile is your opportunity to tell potential clients more about yourself. This is where you can include information such as your interests, hobbies, and any modeling experience you have. Be sure to complete all of the fields in your profile, including the optional ones! The more information you provide, the better chances you have of being contacted by a potential client.

Learn more about modeling in our Academy courses

The go-models Academy offers a variety of courses that can help you advance your modeling career. These courses cover topics such as tips for shootings, nutrition, and photography advice. We recommend that you complete all of the relevant courses as it will help you better understand the modeling industry. That way, you'll be sure to have all the knowledge and skills you need to collaborate with clients. Furthermore, finishing the Academy is an essential milestone to becoming a VIP club member on go-models.com.
